Julian joined the practice in October 2011, following the merger of his specialist business law and tax practice with Andrews Law.

He is a solicitor of 17 years experience, covering most aspects of company law from setting up businesses, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, MBO/MBI’s, and business succession planning. He has drafted complex commercial contracts of many types, and has a flair for finding solutions to complex and technical legal and commercial issues faced by his clients.

Julian will be supporting our specialist property department in the areas of buying, selling and letting, developing and investing in commercial property portfolios. Julian has advised clients across the UK on land related matters, particularly rural estates in the Marches and developers/investors in Mayfair and Knightsbridge.

Julian is a lecturer and examiner for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners lecturing in the UK, Isle of Man, Switzerland and Singapore, and sits on three technical tax committees at the Law Society. He also writes for LexisNexis Butterworths/Tolleys and Sweet & Maxwell, is a contributor to Atkins Court Forms and consultant editor for Halsbury’s Laws of England.

He has business interests in a helicopter brokerage company, a professional photography supply company and is a director of a specialist tax consultancy company – Active Tax Solutions – that provides commercial clients with bespoke advice on capital allowances, indirect taxes and capital tax planning.

In his spare time his interests include collecting late 20th century modern art, motorsport and ice climbing.
